Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice (sticky rice)

  • Water (for soaking and steaming)

  • 1 ½ cups full-fat coconut milk

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 ripe mangoes (peeled and sliced)

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds or toasted mung beans (optional garnish)


Instructions

  • Rinse glutinous rice until water runs clear, then soak for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  • Drain rice and steam for 25-30 minutes until soft and sticky.

  • Heat coconut milk in a saucepan; stir in sugar and salt until dissolved. Remove from heat and reserve ⅓ cup sauce.

  • Mix remaining coconut sauce with steamed rice. Cover and let absorb for 20-30 minutes.

 

  • Serve sticky rice with fresh mango slices; drizzle reserved coconut sauce on top. Garnish with sesame seeds or mung beans if desired.
