Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea (Assam or Darjeeling) or 2 black tea bags

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup whole milk (or milk of choice for dairy-free)

  • 12 teaspoons sugar or honey (adjust to taste)

  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or a dash of cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan.

  2. Reduce heat and add black tea. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  3. Add milk and continue to simmer gently (do not boil) for another 2–3 minutes.

  4. Stir in sugar or honey and optional vanilla if using.

  5. Strain into a mug and enjoy hot. For iced tea, chill and pour over ice.
