Description

A quick, healthy, and flavorful dish combining lean ground turkey with colorful bell peppers and spices. Perfect for weeknight dinners, meal prep, or any time you want a protein-packed, veggie-rich meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) lean ground turkey

  • 2 large bell peppers (red, yellow, or green), sliced or diced

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes or chili powder (for heat)

  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Wash and slice the bell peppers, chop the onion, and mince the garlic.

  2. Sauté aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.

  3. Cook turkey: Add ground turkey to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.

  4. Add peppers and spices: Stir in the bell peppers, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the peppers soften but remain slightly crisp.

  5. Add heat (optional): Sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes or chili powder for a spicy kick and stir to combine.

  6. Serve and garnish: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro, and serve as desired.
